Happy Thanksgiving from Jim aka qzen42
Seven Things for which I am Thankful
My family: Betty, Hobbes & Cervazo
My immediate and extended family
My friends, who, like my family, have supported me through difficult times and celebrated triumphs, joys and special moments.
My teachers (all those above + the many people whose lives have touched mine) who have shared their gifts and talents, and, when my heart and mind was open, helped me to grow and expand my understanding of the Universe.
My hands - through which precious contact with my world flows. May they always commit acts of gentle kindness. May they be available for those I love.
My mind - which gives me access to the minds of others. May I strive to balance my thoughts so that my mind can remain SpongeBob-like (absorbent & yellow & porous, except the yellow part).
My heart - without spirit and love, none of the gifts I give or receive will truly be gifts.
My wish for you:
Honor those people and things in your life for which you are thankful.
My gift to you: A koan of sorts, from a class I took:
If you want to alter your life, alter your relationships.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Love,
Jim aka qzen42 aka Tiberius

Chaos vs Order
When I think about it,
There really isn't that much distance between science & religion...
It takes a certain amount of *faith* in statistics -- the behavior of populations can be predicted, but the behavior of individuals can't be predicted.
Conversely, as far as I have been able to discern,
there's a fair amount of logic & order
to the allegedly chaotic Universe (Creation),
whatever word you choose...
How about that?
